A Youth Mountaineering Education Program

Samina Baig  (Pakistani Woman Mountaineer)

Samina Baig, from Shimshal, is a first year collage student who climbed for the first time in Pakistan history a 6400m, unclimbed peak.  The peak has now been renamed Samina Peak.  Samina is a very enthusiastic and mountain loving girl and has a great love for mountain adventure. She believes in and has aimed to work for the women in Pakistan to promote adventure and encourage women to show their strength and talent in the adventure field along with other sports.

She climbed Chashkin Sar along with her brother Mirza Ali and has planned more serious climbing in the near future. She believes that Pakistan has great adventure potential in the world but it needs to be explored and shared with locals and other adventures lovers across the world.

She also wants to create an environment for students of different institutions to make study tours of the Karakorum range and have healthy activities.  She has set the ultimate goal to climb K2 and Mt Everest one day.  She wants to make mountaineering her profession in the future and to study tourism management in the near future as well.  Chashkin Sar 6400m was her first 6000er.
